All CallManifest : Season 4 Episode 2 UPDATED
Before Manifest wrapped up Season 4, Part 1, Eden made her way back to Ben and her older siblings, Olive (Luna Blaise) and Cal (Ty Doran). Since her return, fans wonder whose side the toddler is on after a mysterious phone call later in the season.
All CallManifest : Season 4 Episode 2
The Manifest passengers have been on one wild and miserable ride since flight 828 touched down after being missing for five and a half years, despite no time passing for them in the sky. When the series returns for the first half of the fourth and final season, set two years after Grace (Athena Karkanis) is murdered, things have never quite been so dire. Ben (Josh Dallas) is still enveloped by his grief and search for his kidnapped daughter Eden, whom Angelina (Holly Taylor) took after she stabbed Grace in the abdomen and left her for dead. Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh) is trying to captain the lifeboat and save the passengers, while Saanvi (Parveen Kaur) continues to use science to try to find an answer to beating the impending death date. From there, things fall apart.
Fans of the newly revived drama will remember one of the big season 3 cliffhangers, which was when the Stone family's youngest, played by Jack Messina, vanished under supernatural circumstances only to reappear five years older.
Ty Doran now portrays Cal on Manifest season 4, and he and his fellow cast members teased the character's growing-up process at EW's New York Comic Con video suite Saturday ahead of the show's big panel.
"He's in this older body but has not matured to the level that would be apropos of his stature now, I guess," Doran says. "So it has been weird to... He's like a little kid. He's so angsty, he's got so many daddy issues, and he wants to help so bad. It's been interesting... Where he begins and where he ends are two very different places, and I think he really grows up over the course of this season."
Change is coming for all the characters by virtue of the two-year time jump between season 3 and season 4. The last finale also saw the death of Grace (Athena Karkanis) and the kidnapping of baby Eden by Angelina (Holly Taylor).
At the end of Manifest season 3, troubled 828-er Angelina stabs Grace Stone to death and kidnaps her daughter, Eden. Season 4 starts a couple of years later, and it becomes clear the relationship between Ben and his son, Cal, is now strained. Losing his wife and daughter had a profound effect on Ben who spends the first few episodes showing little to no interest in the Lifeboat, the Callings, or the Death Day. While he never outright says it, Ben does blame his son for what happened and spends the better part of two years pretty much ignoring him.
Messina made an appearance on the Emmy award-winning The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel alongside Alex Borstein as younger son in an Italian immigrant family.[2][3] Between 2018 and 2021, Messina played a main role as Cal Stone on NBC's science fiction drama Manifest as a young boy struggling with terminal leukaemia and a passenger on the mysterious returning airplane Flight 828.[4][3][1] He played the character for the first three seasons, 43 episodes in total, but did not return for season 4.[5]
Manifest Season 4 has arrived. The first half of the show's 20-episode final season is now streaming on Netflix, picking up two years after the events of Season 3, and to put it lightly, the Stone family is in shambles. As if supernatural Callings and government overwatch wasn't enough, the crazed Angelina Meyer ended the previous season by killing Grace and kidnapping baby Eden. As evident by his bushy beard in Season 4 trailer footage, Ben Stone has been grieving with the loss of both his wife and youngest daughter for some time. To make matters even more chaotic, Ben's oldest son has seemingly missed out on half a decade of life.
This older Cal has an increased role in Season 4. In one of the season's first episodes, Cal receives a dragon tattoo, something that prophecies him to be a crucial piece to solving the entire mystery revolving around Flight 828 and the imminent Death Date of June 2nd, 2024.
Unfortunately, Netflix is yet to announce a release date for season 4 part 2. However, we predict that the second half of the season is likely to premiere in early 2023, bringing the Manifest journey to an end.
Although fans were wondering if Manifest was getting a movie treatment, the streaming giant delighted all with an announcement at 8:28am on August 28, 2021 (a callout to Flight 828, the plot's center piece) that it had picked up the series for at least one and perhaps two seasons.
A year later, on August 28, 2022, Netflix debuted the first trailer for season 4, which will be comprised of two batches of ten episodes each. To the excitement of all, the entire original cast is expected to reprise their roles.
In the season 3 finale of Manifest, fans were shocked to witness the death of Grace Stone (played by Athena Karkanis) following her stabbing by Angelina Meyer (Holly Taylor), who then runs away with Grace's daughter Eden (alternatively portrayed by Brooks and Parker Johnson).
First and foremost, Ben Stone (played by Josh Dallas) will have to deal with Eden's kidnapping. By committing the murder, Angelina has also officially turned into an enemy of her fellow Flight 828 passengers and it will be interesting to see how they deal with her moving forward, especially considering that the next few episodes will take place five years after the events that occurred in the season 3 finale.
If the season 4 trailer of Manifest is of any indication, Cal Stone (Eden's twin brother) might be considered his sister's murderer by the authorities - at least initially. In fact, the clip shows him in handcuffs, being taken away from the house.
The off-screen murder of Grace was certainly the most memorable plot point of season 3 of Manifest. However, as audience members may remember, a lot more happened throughout the 13 episodes that aired a few months ago.
Although we see Cal in the preview for season 4, we spent much of season 3 wondering where he disappeared to after touching the tailfin of Flight 828. His father Ben's quest to find him proves fruitless until a calling reunites him with Cal on the actual plane, where his son warns him that something bad is going to happen. Cal does seem to have returned home in the final scene of the final episode of season 3 - albeit looking much older than when we last saw him pre-disappearance.
It seems clear that the key to understanding Manifest in its entirety, and a clue to what even happened on Flight 828, is highly dependent on Cal, which we believe will be a central character in episodes to come. 041b061a72
